Pharmacological properties:
Ciprofloxacin has antibacterial (bactericidal) action, is particularly active against gram-negative bacteria, relatively less pronounced its effect on anaerobes. in the following bacteria: Enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Campilobacter jejuni, Citrobacter diversus, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter cloaceae, Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Haemophilus parainfluenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Morganella morganii, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Proteus mirabilis, Proteus vulgaris, Providencia rettgeri, Providencia stuartii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi, Serratia marcescens, Shigella flexneri, Shigella sonnei, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Staphylococcus hominic, Staphylococcus hominoc, Staphylococcus.Aeromonas caviae, Aeromonas hydrophilia, Brucella melitensis, Campylobacter coli, Edwardsiella tarda, Enterobacter aerogenes, Haemophilus ducreyi, Klebsiella oxytoca, Legionella pneumophila, Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalita, , Yersinia enterocolitica, Chlamydia trachomatis (moderate susceptibility), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (moderate susceptibility). Indications:
Topical treatment of various infectious diseases of the eye and its appendages caused by drug-sensitive bacteria: acute and subacute conjunctivitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, blepharitis, corneal bacterial ulcers with or without hypopionia, bacterial keratoconus and bacterium keratoconus and keratoconus.
Preoperative prophylaxis in ophthalmic surgery. Treatment of postoperative infectious complications.
Treatment and prevention of infectious complications after trauma to the eye socket and its appendages (with or without a foreign body).
Method of administration and dosage:
Placed in the conjunctival sac (between the posterior surface of the hollow eyelid and the anterior surface of the eye socket). In severe infections, eye ointment is applied 3-4 times a day. The number of admissions may be reduced to alleviate the symptoms of the disease. For mild infections, it is usually prescribed 2 times a day. In addition to eye drops at night, it is possible to use additional eye ointment to ensure longer contact with the drug.
Side effects:
Local reactions: possible - allergic reactions, itching, burning, conjunctival hyperemia and mild pain, nausea; Rare: swelling of the eyelids, fear of light, foreign body sensation in the eyes, discomfort in the mouth after instillation, impaired vision, crystalline precipitate in patients with corneal ulcer, keratitis, keratopathy, corneal spots or infiltration.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ciprofloxacin or other drugs of the fluoroquinolones group, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, pregnancy and lactation.
Pregnancy and lactation:
The use of the drug Floximed during pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.
Storage conditions:
Floximed eye ointment 0.3% is stored at a temperature of 30ºC, out of reach of children. The drug is used for a month after opening the tube!
Shelf life - 2 years from the date of manufacture. The drug is not used after the expiration date.
