3. How to use Coclusedal Paracetamol 100mg Rectal Suppository
Dosage
The dose of paracetamol depends on the weight of the baby; Age is given for information only. If you do not know your baby's weight, you need to weigh him or her for proper dosing.
Paracetamol is available in different doses, which allows the treatment to be adjusted according to the infant's body mass.
The recommended daily dose of paracetamol depends on the weight of the infant: the dose is approximately 60 mg/kg/day in 4-6 divided doses, or 15 mg/kg every 6 hours.
Due to the risk of rectal irritation, suppositories should be used for as short a period as possible, should not exceed 4 injections per day, and oral treatment should be instituted as soon as possible.
Do not use the suppository form during diarrhea.
This form of the drug is used only in infants weighing 5-8 kg (ie about 2-9 months).
Method of use: Used rectally.
In addition, if the baby has a temperature higher than 38.50C, you can improve the effectiveness of treatment with the drug as follows:
- • Pay for the blanket to the baby,
- • Give fluid,
- • Do not leave babies in a very hot place.
Frequency of use: Regular use will prevent pain or fever variability.
The drug should be used in infants and children at regular intervals, including at night, preferably every 6 hours and at least once every 4 hours.
