Heparin ointment contains (per 100 g) 10,000 IU of heparin, 4 g of anesthesia, 0.08 g of benzylnicotine, up to 100 g of the base.
The ointment is a homogeneous mass with a sour consistency, white or slightly yellowish in color.
Pharmacological properties:
The drug is used externally. Heparin ointment after application on the skin has a moderate anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory effect prevents the development of blood clots and has a local analgesic property.
Indications for use:
- Treatment and prevention of superficial venous thrombophlebitis;
- Localized infiltrates and edema;
- Injuries and bruises (including muscle tissue, tendons, joints)

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the components of heparin ointment.
Caution is required:
The use of heparin ointment is not recommended in case of bleeding, as well as in open wounds and mucous membranes, as well as in the presence of purulent processes.
The drug is prescribed with caution in case of increased bleeding from blood vessels.
Overdose:
Cases of overdose when using the drug are rare due to its low penetration into the systemic circulation.
Method of administration and dosage:
Apply a thin layer of ointment on the affected area (in the amount of 0.5-1.0 g with a diameter of 3-5 cm) and gently rub it on the skin.
In the case of external hemorrhoidal thrombosis, the drug-impregnated bandage is fixed directly on the thrombus node. For the same purpose, we can use a tampon that is also soaked with a drug that is injected into the back of the body.
The ointment is applied 2-3 times a day daily until the inflammatory event disappears. The drug is used on average for 3 to 7 days. A relatively long course of treatment is determined by your doctor.
Storage conditions: Store in a dry, cool place, protected from light and children.
Shelf life: 3 years.
