Description
A sterile liquid of different intensity yellow color, transparent, with a specific taste.
Composition:
Active substances:
The drug contains a mixture of sterile filtrates of phagolysates of bacteria: Shigella, Salmonella, E. coli, Proteus, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa with a titer of each phage not less than 1×105.
Pharmaceutical form:
20 ml sterile solution for enteral administration - for drinking and rectally (Per os/ Per rectum).
Pharmacological action
A bacteriophage is a bacteria-specific virus that adsorbs on the cell membrane of a homologous bacterium, destroys its integrity, enters the cell, multiplies and causes its lysis.
Phagesti® contains selected, only virulent phages of bacteria (Shigella, Salmonella, E.сoli, Proteus, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas, Enterococcus), which determines the high activity and efficiency of the drug.
Regardless of the route of introduction into the body, bacteriophage preparations are quickly absorbed into the blood and lymph and easily reach the center of the disease.
It is excreted from the body: the main part through the kidneys, the rest through the gastrointestinal tract.
Therapeutic indications:
Phagesti® is used for diseases caused by bacteria (Shigella, Salmonella, E.сoli, Proteus, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas, Enterococcus) or their combination:
Shigellosis, salmonellosis, typhoid, paratyphoid, irritable bowel syndrome (dysbacteriosis), enterocolitis, infectious colitis, dyspepsia in complex therapy.
for the treatment and prevention of foodborne infection and other bacterial diarrhea (diarrhea); Also in case of gastrointestinal discomfort, in all age and high risk groups of patients.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to any component of the contents of the drug vial.
Special warnings:
There are no special precautions when using the drug. In case of using a volume of less than 20 ml, it is recommended to remove the drug with a sterile syringe.
The integrity of the contents of the broken vial is allowed to be used within 24 hours after opening if the storage conditions are fully observed.
It is not allowed to take the drug in a confused state!

Interaction with other medicinal products:
The incompatibility of the drug with other medicinal products has not been established. It can be used in complex treatment together with other herbal remedies, including antibacterial drugs (antibiotics).
Pregnancy and lactation:
The drug can be used during pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage, method of use and method of administration:
One of the important prerequisites for the effectiveness of phage therapy is to determine the sensitivity of the disease-causing microorganism to the phage (the phages contained in the drug). The drug is especially effective when used in the early stages of the disease.
Phagesti is prescribed orally (for drinking) as soon as the first symptoms of the disease appear, 1 hour before meals, 2-3 times a day, for 5-10 days.
For greater effectiveness of the treatment course, in addition to oral administration, the liquid form of Fagest is also prescribed rectally in the form of a micro enema, once a day in the evening, before going to bed, after gastric emptying.

Overdose:
Data on the consequences of an overdose of the drug are not known.
Side effects:
The drug is non-toxic, data on side effects developed after its use or harmful effects on the human body have not been revealed.
Release form and packaging:
The drug is produced in 20 ml glass vials. 4 glass vials of 20 ml with instructions for use are placed in a cardboard box.
Storage and transportation conditions:
Store in a dry place, protected from light, inaccessible to children at a temperature of 2-25°C.
It can be transported by all types of closed transport, which ensures the maintenance of a stable temperature regime during the entire transportation period.
expiration date
The product is valid for 2 years under proper conditions. It is not allowed to use the drug after the expiration date!
In case of a defect found as a result of visual inspection, taking the drug is not allowed!
